About Me

Luis Gonzalez-Bayon, MD, PhD, is Professor of Surgical Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and Head of the Peritoneum, Retroperitoneum and Complex Pelvis Unit at the Gregorio Maranon University General Hospital (HGUGM).

He is an oncological surgeon specialized in complex peritoneal pathology, with particular experience in the treatment of appendiceal mucinous neoplasms and peritoneal carcinomatosis, combining advanced surgical techniques with multidisciplinary approaches. He is considered a reference in peritoneal oncological surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).

His clinical experience includes Peritoneal Oncological Surgery and Exenterations for complex pelvic tumors. He also worked in the Peritoneal Surface Oncology Program of the Surgical Oncology Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center International Spain.
