Dr. Pablo Lozano Lominchar
About Me
Dr. Pablo Lozano Lominchar is a surgeon specializing in General Surgery and Digestive System with a Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is part of the General Surgery and Digestive System service at the Gregorio Marañón University General Hospital in Madrid, in the Peritoneal Carcinomatosis Surgery section and the CSUR for sarcoma (reference center for sarcoma treatment), which he combines with his teaching and research work as Associate Professor in Surgical Pathology at the Complutense University of Madrid.
His work includes research on retroperitoneal sarcomas and mesenchymal tumors (GIST tumor, desmoid fibromatosis, schwannoma, retroperitoneal germ cell tumors) whose treatment presents significant challenges due to their low frequency, clinical and histological heterogeneity, and unique anatomical location. He also investigates Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP), a rare malignant disease, and has conducted clinical studies on the prophylaxis of cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in patients undergoing HIPEC. He is currently focused on researching new therapies for the treatment of gastric-origin peritoneal carcinomatosis.
His unique national-level training at the American cancer treatment center of excellence Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York stands out, where he completed an exclusive certification as an international surgical oncologist.
