Spain had its own camera industry through the post-war years, almost always out of necessity: importing was not an option, so cameras were built here. Valencia, Barcelona and Vic turned out bakelite and plastic bodies with domestically made lenses and shutters. They are technically modest pieces and historically fascinating ones.

Cheap then, hard to find now.
They were built to sell cheaply, used until they broke and almost never kept. That is why a Spanish camera from the 1950s in good condition is harder to find today than a German one of the same period, even though back then it cost a fraction of the price.
It is the strand with the best ratio of historical interest to entry price in the whole collection, and the one that best documents an industrial chapter barely written down anywhere.
